PROJECT TITLE: Medical Device Future Hiring Trend Survey. PROJECT START DATE: February 4, 2003 PROJECT END DATE: May 6, 2003 PROJECT OBJECTIVES: The purpose of the project is to conduct a survey to gather information regarding the future hiring trends of medical device companies. More specifically, we will determine which candidates (Bachelor's, Master's, or doctoral) are most attractive to different sized medical device companies in the next two years, five years, ten years, and fifteen years. This data will be gathered regarding mechanical and biomedical engineering majors. After being accepted by Sharon B. Kurtt (Project sponsor, Director of IT Career Services), the results will be accessible to all IT students.
APPROACH: The team will work effectively to complete the project on time using our collective knowledge, training, and resources. We will research means to conduct an effective survey. We will develop a survey and cover letter that will ensure the best response. We will survey roughly 100 companies (40 small (1-49 employees) and 60 large (50+ employees)) Results will be tabulated with respect to company size, engineering major, and level of education. Final results and appropriate documentation will be presented to project sponsor.
